Text message program.

How texts from your music studio through Methodica work: what we send, how you say yes, and how to stop. Texts are always optional.

The short version. Your studio can text you lesson reminders, schedule changes and billing notices through Methodica — but only if you turn texts on. Nobody at the studio can do it for you, and you never need texts to enroll, take lessons, book, or pay. Everything we would text you is also emailed and shown in the app. Reply STOP any time to stop.

Who is texting me?

Methodica is the scheduling and billing app your music studio uses. It is operated by CGHM Associates LLC (Illinois, USA), which also runs its own lesson studio, Evolution Music in Downers Grove and Midlothian, Illinois. Texts arrive from a Methodica number and always name your studio, for example “Methodica (Evolution Music): …”.

How you opt in — two ways, both optional

Consent to texts is a separate, deliberate action. It is never bundled into signing up, creating an account, booking a lesson, or paying, and it is off by default everywhere.

This is the exact wording you agree to in the app:

Text messages are optional and never required to enroll, take lessons or pay. By turning this on you agree to receive recurring automated lesson, schedule and billing texts from your studio via Methodica at your number. Frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

When you opt in, the first text confirms your subscription and repeats the STOP and HELP instructions. We keep a record of when you agreed, which of the two methods you used, and the exact disclosure text you saw — so you (and we) can always show that consent was yours.

What we send

  • Lesson reminders — e.g. “Methodica (Evolution Music): Reminder – Emma has a guitar lesson with Mike tomorrow, Wed Oct 1 at 4:30 PM. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
  • Schedule changes — a lesson moved, cancelled, or a make-up offered.
  • Billing notices — a tuition receipt or a payment reminder, sometimes with a link to view the receipt in the app.
  • New message notices — a heads-up that your teacher or studio sent you a message in the app.

That is the whole list. No marketing, no promotions, no third-party offers. If you have not opted in, none of these are texted; you still get them by email and in the app.

How to stop, and how to get help

  • Reply STOP to any text. You will get one final confirmation and nothing more. START re-subscribes.
  • Or turn off Profile → Notifications → Text messages in the app.
  • Reply HELP for help, or email hello@methodica.app.
